Who Will Win on Labor Day?

With the blog author suffering a bitter defeat, I figured that this weeks post was going to be short so I decided to post a couple things that should be noted about the Labor Day Invitational...
ReplyDelete-The A-Teams strength of schedule was second to none. They beat the Leggies twice (who knocked out the B-team this tournament and the A-team last tournament), Brian/Rita twice (runner-up in both tournaments) and beat the piss out of the B-team (10-0 start, one throw away from a shut-out). Without question, the season ends with the A-team being the hands down best team of the Summer 09', they'll be looking to repeat in 2010'.
-Team Iowa Avenue(Eric & Eric) surprised the whole field by losing consecutively in their first two games. There inability to close was the achilles heal of the team; they were leading significantly in both of there games(17-11 in game one) before losing. Looks like they caught whatever Brad Lidge has....
-For the second tournament in a row, Brian and Rita lost consecutive games in the championship round falling just short. They get the Buffalo Bills award for the summer 09'. Although they lost, both games in the Labor day Invitational were hard fought. Many who witnessed game one claim it to be the "best ladderball game ever played at the shipmaster resort".
-Team Leggies continues to play spoiler, this time they axed the B-team and ended their hopes of a title defense. Watch out for Kyle in the Fall classic singles tourney.
-In general every game was competitive, with the exception of the collapse of the B-team in the quarterfinals against the A-team. I commend all the teams (except the B-team) for a valiant effort.

That is an accurate description of what transpired for team Iowa Avenue; however, it should not go unnoticed that my teammate, the athletically inclined cheez-it t-shirt wearing mr. wyz, twice slanged would-be winners (one in each game) only to see them cancelled out in devastating fashion, whereas i was the one who shit the bed in lidge-like fashion.
ReplyDeleteAlso, the history books will one day show that it was in fact the ZJ's who sent the A-Team to an early exit in the first tournament; Team Leggies sent them only to the losers bracket. At least I think that's what happened; i was hammered.
Looking forward to the Fall Classic, perhaps we could add an eating contest that weekend as well, so I can actually win something. 2 burgers and 2 dogs in like 15 minutes. And I was still hungry.

humble winner, isnt he? youre only as good as everyone thinks you are, not as good as YOU say you are. Its the consensus that Fred is the only reason the A Team won, and that in true fashion, "the bounce" is a disgrace to sportsmanship as well as the game. Whens the championship between A and B Team? Are you selling tickets Bobby? or just bullshit?
