Question of the Week: B-Team the new A-Team?

A lot of people have been asking me this question lately. If the B-Team won the Ladderball Open and the A-Team didn't even finish in the top 3 (they blame their poor performance on alcohol), wouldn't that make the B-Team the new A-Team? Yes, yes it does. But some people still say no. One person in particular is member of the A-Team, Bob. He wants to the keep the name he gave himself and his teammate. He argues that since the B-Team won the tourney without ever having to face the A-Team, the team names should stay the same. If that's the case then I think at least they should demote themselves to a lowercase A or an A with an asterisk that says they are not ladderball champions. Just a thought. The question will be answered once and for all in September when the two teams match up in a 7 games series better known as the Fall Classic. The winners gets an all inclusive trip to a Phillies game paid for by the losers. Ladderball Weekly wants to know what you think. Who is the real A-Team?

  1. The ZJ's should be the REAL new A-Team, having beaten the A and B Team's in convincing fashion early in the day, before the alchohol excuse could have been viewed as an acceptable alibi. They were brought down only by the late round suckiness of their drunk younger member, but a source tells me that they are practicing for what they view as an inevitable labor day tournament rematch.

  2. Contrary to the beliefs of the ZJ's,(whatever the hell that stands for is beyond me) excessive alcohol consumption is not a valid excuse for a poor showing on the ladderball court. Alcohol, in fact, is believed by some to be a performance enhancing drug. That is the reason why, unlike most professional sports, it is mandated. A Labor Day tournament doesn't appear to be on the Resort schedule at this time, but should you feel the need to donate to the B Teams' ever-growing winnings account, I believe they would be glad to oblige

  3. The REAL A-Team will be glad to play in what appears to be the Labor Day Invitational. As far as the A-Team is concerned, the last tournament was just a regular season warmup in which they lost due to alocohol consumption and dog interference....WE still easily have the best win percentage in the summer of 09'. Rumor has it that the instead of prize money, the purse for the Labor Day Invitational is a pair of phillies tickets. Stay Tuned

P.S - A rumor has surface on the internet that Brian and Rita were paid off to lose in the finals by the B-team. This will be investigated by the Shipmaster Resort Ladder ball commitee.

  4. Ol' Andy: First, I should tell you that i'm a huge fan. Congrats on the big win.

That said, to honestly answer your question: let bobby shitz keep the a-team logo.

You and TJ just need to reclaim the meaning of "B." The B-team stands for bravery, bouncing, best. Bold and barbaric.
